Rutherglen Premium Lamb

Our family were blacksmiths in Swan Street,  Wangaratta  when they selected this farm in 1860. Draught horses provided the manpower for the planting of apricot , figs, pears ,plums ,cherries and almonds which were harvested and delivered to local shops and the port of Melbourne for sea freight to England and Germany.

Vines were planted and bricks handmade to build a large cellar for wine vats and cool storage for picked fruit. A large Jersey herd and dairy produced hand churned cream.

From my father I learned to love and care for sheep and their lambs, and it is these lambs that are so sought after by households and restaurants around Australia today.

I cannot explain why our lamb tastes so good. Maybe the care we take of our lamb , and the sunshine and the lucerne on which they graze all combine to make it so delicious.
